Montague's overarching idea is that a biological system such as the brain uses energy efficiently as a result of evolutionary processes. If pre WWI, Jews, Germans and Austrians could magically read "Esau's Tears", they would probably recognize it as a fair statement of their lives and times. The scenes were incredibly well written. "Randy Bones und Marten Doomer rannten, was sie konnten. You could visualise them so clearly. This was an amazing book. David and his team are undeniably the best there is.
